Brnabic meets with Murphy

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic and the chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Damian Murphy confirmed on Monday a readiness for advancement of cooperation through dialogue and activities leading to long-term development of bilateral relations.

Brnabic noted the significance of deepening political dialogue and developing specific joint projects in areas of mutual interest, including the energy sector, regional stability and economic development.

She also highlighted the significance of stepping up the Serbia-US strategic dialogue, as well as further strengthening of parliamentary cooperation with the US Congress, which she said would further boost mutual trust and partnership, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia said in a statement.

Brnabic and Murphy also discussed cooperation with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), aimed at improving the electoral process in Serbia.

Brnabic noted that a working group, together with civil society organisations, was actively working on implementing ODIHR recommendations.
