BAKU - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday he was proud to be representing Serbia at the UN's COP29 summit on climate change - one of the most significant global topics today.
"This is a moment when, as the international community, we must demonstrate a sense of responsibility and act with solidarity to preserve our planet for future generations," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post that also included a group photo of participants of the COP29 summit.
He noted that Serbia joined global efforts in the fight against climate change through its national strategies and policies and continued to work on reducing carbon dioxide emissions, promoting energy efficiency, protecting biodiversity and promoting green energy transition.
"May this summit be a reminder to us that, in spite of the challenges, we have the strength to change the course, preserve the planet and ensure a better future to all," Vucic wrote in the post.
Earlier, on the sidelines of the summit, Vucic met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, European Council President Charles Michel and other world leaders.
