BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic on Monday received Kazakh Defence Minister Lt Gen Ruslan Jaqsylyqov, who is on an official visit to Belgrade.

A 2025 plan on bilateral military cooperation was signed at a meeting between Serbian and Kazakh delegations, the Serbian MoD said in a statement.

Gasic noted that the relations between the two countries and the two peoples were friendly and that the excellent relationship between the presidents of Serbia and Kazakhstan, Aleksandar Vucic and Kassym-Jomart Tokaev, contributed to that.

Gasic also said Belgrade was grateful for Kazakhstan's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia in all international institutions.

He said Serbia was committed to a peaceful resolution of all issues through political dialogue with Pristina, with full respect of UNSCR1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement.

Gasic noted that Serbia-Kazakhstan defence cooperation was very good, with substantial potential for further strengthening.

He said the two defence ministries had exchanged proposals for potential future cooperation and that the 2025 plan on bilateral military cooperation had been signed as a result of mutual commitment.
