Vucic, Cvijanovic discuss key issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, economic ties

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairperson Zeljka Cvijanovic in Belgrade on Friday to discuss opportunities for strengthening economic, infrastructure and cultural ties between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"A cordial and friendly meeting with Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairperson Zeljka Cvijanovic. We discussed all key issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, issues of importance for Serbs, as well as advancement of the relations between our countries," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He added that he believed even more significant results could be achieved through joint efforts "in projects connecting our peoples and strengthening regional cooperation."

He noted that work on preserving peace and stability across the region was essential for Serbia.

"As president of the Republic of Serbia, I am committed to cherishing goodneighbourly relations and support for all initiatives contributing to a better future for all citizens of the region," Vucic said.

He thanked Cvijanovic for her committed work and a vision contributing to strengthening of Serbian unity and cooperation.

"I am confident her term as chairperson will bring significant progress and good decisions for Serbs as well as for all other peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will continue to work together on strengthening our ties and protecting the interests of the Serbs, with full respect for Bosnia and Herzegovina as a neighbouring and friendly country," Vucic said.

He added that Cvijanovic had noted that she expected much from cooperation and that she looked forward to Serbia's progress.
