Vucic visits EXPO2027 construction site
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic toured the EXPO2027 construction site in Belgrade on Wednesday, noting that it was fascinating how an entirely new city was emerging on the location, where ha said "history begins."
"Believe or not, this, too, is EXPO. We are at the Sava, there is not enough sand and gravel for the time being, and the construction site is insanely busy. Sand is being brought it, then trucks come and take it to all parts of the construction site," Vucic said in a video posted on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.
He said the site would feature theme parks, a heating plant, apartments, fair venues, a national stadium, an aquatic centre, and aquarium and a water park.
He said the construction site was an incredible sight to behold and urged the citizens to come and witness the emergence of an entirely new city.
"History begins here, you will all be happy and pleased just like I am today," he said.
Vucic said extensive works were underway and that the location would also include a marina for cruise ships and boats from which visitors would be able to go to theme parks.
"From here, driverless vehicles will be taking you to the fair grounds and to the EXPO," Vucic said.
"No surrender, Serbia will not stop," he added.
