BRUSSELS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday in Brussels he had met with the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak and that he had reiterated that Belgrade stood ready to cooperate to help identify those behind the recent incident in Kosovo-Metohija's Varage village, which he noted had "served for the purpose of a hybrid attack on our country."

"I reiterated that we are conducting a serious investigation and that we will cooperate with everyone with a view to shedding light on facts and the perpetrators and, above all, on those who ordered what happened at Varage, which has served for the purpose of a hybrid attack on our country," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He said the discussion with Lajcak had also addressed developments in Kosovo-Metohija and the most recent threats to the Serbs' rights and security.

He said Belgrade would do everything in its power and continue to insist on the truth, justice and protection for the lives of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs, who he noted were being targeted by increasingly brutal pressure and tyranny by the Pristina regime.

"We also expect stepped up engagement on these issues, which are crucial to us, from the EU as the facilitator and guarantor of what has been achieved in the Brussels dialogue," Vucic added.
