Lajcak announces continuation of dialogue
BRUSSELS - After Monday's meetings with Pristina's PM Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said he was glad Pristina had "accepted the EU proposal in principle", and announced a continuation of discussions at high level.
"I travelled to Pristina to meet with PM Albin Kurti and Deputy PM Besnik Bislimi and to Belgrade to do the same with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Petar Petkovic. I’m glad that Kosovo now also accepted the EU Proposal in principle. We will continue our discussions at a High-level Meeting," Lajcak wrote in a Twitter post on Monday.
Lajcak met with Vucic in Belgrade on Monday evening after speaking with Kurti in Pristina earlier in the day.
In an Instagram post, Vucic said he had had an open and friendly discussion with Lajcak.
"An open and friendly discussion with Miroslav Lajcak. When I say open, I really mean that. You understand everything I said. Long live Serbia," Vucic wrote in the post, which also included photos from the meeting.
In a Twitter post after his meeting with Lajcak, Kurti wrote that Pristina accepted an EU proposal for normalisation of its relations with Belgrade.
