Vucevic receives Interpol's Al-Raisi
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic received Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi on Friday to discuss Serbia's cooperation with Interpol and opening a regional Interpol bureau in Belgrade.
Vucevic thanked Al-Raisi for backing an initiative to open the bureau in the Serbian capital and said the two sides would work together on expediting the necessary procedures as setting up the bureau was key for security in the region, the Serbian government said in a statement.
He noted that cooperation between Serbian police and Interpol was very good and said he believed Al-Raisi's visit would further deepen that relationship.
Al-Raisi said opening an Interpol bureau in Belgrade was an opportunity for further ties among countries in the region in the fight against crime.
He noted that Serbia had demonstrated commitment in its cooperation with other countries and in supporting all international operations, as well as that it was a dependable partner in the fight against organised crime.
