Brnabic: Croatia has admitted it is working on toppling Vucic
BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Tuesday a statement by Croatian presidential candidate Ivana Kekin that Croatia had a "strategic interest" in Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic "not being in power" implied that Croatia was working on toppling him.
Interestingly, in the final week of campaigning before the presidential elections in Croatia, they are dealing with who is the president of Serbia, Brnabic wrote in a post on X.
She added that Kekin's statement was a definition of the term "interference in the internal affairs of another country."
"Can anyone imagine a discussion during presidential elections in Serbia about who should be the president of Croatia?" she asked.
"If Croatia is admitting so openly that Vucic not being in power is their strategic interest, then that directly implies they are doing everything to topple him. That means they are not even hiding that they support his toppling (a violent and non-democratic one, as he absolutely has majority support among the people in Serbia) financially, logistically, in terms of intelligence and in every other way," Brnabic noted.
"When something is your strategic interest, all institutions in your country - primarily security and intelligence ones - are working on that. Thank you to them for publicly clarifying some things to us," Brnabic concluded.
