Pristina's special police raids offices of two Serbian directorates in K Mitrovica
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Pristina's special police raided the offices of the Serbian Directorate for Development Land and Roads and the Directorate for Housing and Office Space in the north of Kosovska Mitrovica on Thursday, expelling around 70 employees who were inside at the time.
The raid has unsettled the local Serb population as the offices are located inside a residential building.
A regional deputy commander of the so-called "Kosovo Police" said they had been notified by the North Mitrovica municipality that the offices were its property and that there were suspicions a "parallel" structure was operating in them.
He said an investigation into a "document forgery" case had been launched and that the building was under surveillance by the so-called "Kosovo Police".
In a statement, the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija said the raid was "a drastic and brutal continuation of Pristina's terror against the Serbs and their institutions in the north of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija."
