Simic: Srpska lista appeal upheld
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Srpska lista Presidency member Igor Simic said on Tuesday the Kosovo-Metohija Serb party's appeal against a decision on the composition of electoral boards for the February 9 elections in Kosovo-Metohija had been upheld and that he expected Pristina's central election commission to meet again during the day to establish the boards.
"Our appeal regarding the composition of electoral boards was upheld after several hours of delay because even Pristina does not know what to do and what obstacle to put before Srpska lista," Simic told the RTS.
He said Srpska lista aimed to preserve the unity of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija but that that the conditions for electoral campaigning were difficult.
He also said there were suspicions of potential electoral rigging against Srpska lista.
Simic noted that Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija needed to unite to survive in the province in "perhaps the hardest times since 1999" and that they could expect help only from Belgrade.
