Djuric receives farewell visit from US ambassador
BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric received a farewell visit from US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill on Wednesday.
"Minister Djuric noted the significant joint achievements over the past few years that have ushered in a new era in the relations between Serbia and the United States," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
Djuric thanked Hill for his personal contribution to strengthening the ties between the two countries during his tenure.
"Your commitment to further developing our bilateral cooperation across all sectors, your deep understanding of the historical and cultural context, and the specifics of relations in the Western Balkans, as well as your longstanding professional experience and dedication to building new bridges between our two peoples, have left an indelible mark on our shared diplomatic history," the statement quoted Djuric as saying.
"We are particularly proud of the recent initiation of the Strategic Dialogue with America, which not only enhances the structure of our bilateral cooperation but also improves the overall image of Serbia on the international stage," Djuric said.
He noted that the US was "one of Serbia’s most significant foreign policy partners, making regular and constructive dialogue with American officials extremely important."
"During the meeting, Minister Djuric also highlighted the intensified economic relations with the US, which are on an upward trajectory, evidenced by the increasing inflow of American investments, growing trade in goods and services, and significant financial support through development aid programs," the statement said.
