BELGRADE - Serbia's PM-Designate Djuro Macut said on Tuesday he would keep insisting on correct implementation of the Constitution and noted that all state authorities had an obligation to represent and safeguard Serbia's state interests in Kosovo-Metohija, and noted that establishing order in the country in line with the Constitution was a key priority.
Presenting his government's programme to MPs, Macut said implementation of the Constitution implied that the autonomous provinces of Kosovo-Metohija and Vojvodina were an integral part of the territory of sovereign Serbia.
"Everyone in Serbia must adhere to that principle," he noted.
Serbia is in a period of a national and economic upsurge, which some have been trying to deny without success, he said.
"Today, Serbia communicates on equal terms with both with the East and the West, as well as with the North and the South. The centres of power that wish us no good are trying to destabilise a Serbia that is taking strides towards success. We are in the decisive phase of a renewal of our state and nation and, internally, we must now establish order and full respect for the Constitution and the law," he said.
"Serbia is the state of the Serbs and all citizens living in it as equals, and the rule of law, social justice, civic democracy, human and minority rights and belonging to European principles and values must function," he concluded.
