TBILISI - Serbian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic met with Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi on Monday.

Garibashvili said Serbia and Georgia shared the same positions and together advocated and respected international law.

"Our position on the so-called Kosovo is known and will not change. In that sense, we provide strong support to Serbia," Garibashvili said, and Orlic thanked him for the statement.

Orlic is on an official visit to Georgia at the invitation of his counterpart Shalva Papuashvili.

The meeting with Garibashvili addressed bilateral relations, ways of stepping up overall cooperation and European integration, the Serbian parliament said in a statement.

Speaking about European integration of the two countries, Orlic said Georgia could count on Serbia's support on that matter.

He noted that Serbia had achieved success in practically all areas of rule of law and that the country had passed a set of new judicial laws to complete a reform in the field, launched by constitutional amendments last year.

However, the matter of Serbia's European integration remains under the heavy burden of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, he added.

"On a daily basis, we face unilateral moves by Pristina, as well as Albin Kurti's brazen refusal to finally form a Community of Serb Municipalities after a decade-long wait. We demand that signed agreements be implemented without delay and that security be ensured to our people in Kosovo-Metohija as those the elementary preconditions for further dialogue," Orlic said.
