KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The situation in the north of Kosovska Mitrovica after last night's raid by Pristina's special police is calm and a small number of police troops are deployed in the ethnically mixed districts of Bosnjacka mahala and Tri solitera.

EULEX vehicles have also been patrolling in the town since this morning.

Srpska lista deputy leader Igor Simic told the RTS the situation in the north of Kosovo-Metohija following the raid and an attempt by around 300 special police troops to occupy that part of the province was calm but tense.

"Another sleepless night for the Serbs, during which people were thinking about whether they can send their children to school tomorrow or go shopping or to work - things that are normal everywhere. The atmosphere here is such that everything is boiling, not only for Serbs, but also for ethnic Albanians and the Gorani. Everyone was taken aback by such developments and the attempt by Pristina," Simic said.
