BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Thursday with Spanish FM Jose Manuel Albares, thanking him for Spain's principled position of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija and for its active support to Serbia in international forums.

"I voiced my concern over ever-frequent attacks on Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and expressed the expectation the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities, as the absolute priority, will finally ensure the safety of the Serb community," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile.

He added that the meeting with Albares had been good and that they had also discussed global developments.

"As always, a good meeting with friends who respect Serbia, with an open and substantial exchange about current developments on the regional and global geopolitical scenes, as well as about Spain's support in Serbia's EU integration process, especially in light of Spain's Council of the EU presidency," Vucic wrote.
