BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the chief prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals Serge Brammertz on Friday, noting that Serbia was consistent in efforts to attain justice for war crimes and find people who had gone missing in the war conflicts of the 1990s.

Vucic added that Serbia would continue to treat cooperation with the Mechanism in a serious and responsible way, with emphasis on advancement of regional judicial cooperation, the presidential press office said in a statement.

Vucic and Brammertz discussed continuation of the cooperation between Serbia and the Mechanism, regional cooperation in war crimes prosecution, as well as the issue of finding missing persons.

Pointing out the Seselj case and contempt of court, Brammertz requested responsible actions from Serbia in that regard, but also welcomed its role in terms of regional efforts to punish war crimes and noted that direct engagement by Serbia's authorities and prosecutor's office had produced results and solved problems, adding that efforts in that direction should be continued.

Vucic commended Brammertz's continued engagement and support for Serbia's progress towards national goals, the statement said.
