BRUSSELS - The European Parliament's foreign affairs committee on Wednesday passed rapporteur Vladimir Bilcik's amended report on Serbia.

The report was carried with 43 votes in favour, six against and five abstentions.

Before the vote, Bilcik said four rounds of meetings had resulted in a solid report.

We can send a solid message to our partners in Belgrade about the EP's determination to continue to be engaged in the Western Balkans, Bilcik said.

The report includes an amendment that expresses regret over what it says is a continued low level of Serbia's alignment with the EU foreign policy, especially in the context of the Ukraine war, and underlines that, as an EU candidate country, Serbia must comply with the bloc's policy and principles.
