Brnabic: Situation in Kosovo-Metohija tense, more difficult than ever before
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Monday the situation in Kosovo-Metohija was tense and more difficult than ever before.
Brnabic thanked Kosovo-Metohija Serbs for remaining calm and refraining from violence.
Brnabic said Kfor's reaction had been belated and noted that the mission's task was to protect peace and the interests of the people in Kosovo-Metohija, rather than the interests of "usurpers."
By preserving peace, we are preserving the survival of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, she said.
"I do not have a single kind word to say about our partners in the EU or Kfor - their reaction was belated, they should have been there on Friday the way they are there today. Under UNSCR 1244, their mandate is to protect peace and stability and, above all, the people. Today, they are not protecting the people, they are not protecting democracy - what they are there for today is to protect the usurper from democracy and ordinary citizens," Brnabic said.
