Vucic thanks Macron for supporting Serbia over developments in Kosovo-Metohija
CHISINAU - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Chisinau on Thursday and thanked him for supporting Serbia over the latest developments in Kosovo-Metohija.
"I thanked President Emmanuel Macron for his firm stance and his support to Serbia regarding the latest developments in Kosovo-Metohija," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile.
He added that he had voiced concerns over the latest escalation of violence in Kosovo-Metohija and that the discussion with Macron had addressed further steps towards maintaining peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders spoke during a European Political Community summit in the Moldovan capital.
Vucic also met with Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez to discuss the complex situation in Kosovo-Metohija and ways to resolve the latest crisis.
"With Sanchez, a sincere friend of Serbia, I discussed the complex situation in Kosovo-Metohija, ways to resolve the latest crisis, as well as Serbia's EU path, the Western Balkan region and other important issues," Vucic wrote in a separate Instagram post.
He thanked Spain for its support, understanding and respect for Serbia's positions, as well as for its unwavering and consistent respect of the principles of international law.
