Vucic concerned over looming pressure due to escalations in Kosovo-Metohija, Ukraine
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday evening he was very concerned over escalations in Kosovo-Metohija and Ukraine and pressure on Serbia that would result from that.
In an appearance on a Happy TV talk show, Vucic said his attendance at an European Political Community summit in Chisinau had been very difficult for him but very successful for Serbia and that he had had a very decent and civilised conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"I am very concerned over Kosovo and Ukraine. They (Ukraine) have just launched an offensive and it will be many times stronger than it is now, and the Russian response, if they have the strength, will not be weak, which, along with destruction of a part of Western weapons, will additionally complicate things and generate even more nervousness in the public opinions of those countries, as well as in the pressure on us," Vucic said.
He said he believed Serbia had been acting in a serious and responsible way, in line with its interests and "in spite of lobbyists on all sides."
