Three officers of so-called Kosovo Police arrested in central Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian police and a special police anti-terrorist unit on Wednesday located and arrested three officers of the so-called Kosovo Police in the administrative strip towards Kosovo-Metohija, deep inside the territory of central Serbia, the Serbian Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The statement said all three arrestees, identified by the initials R Z, B S and M S, had been armed with automatic firearms and in full combat gear, and equipped with GPS devices, maps and other equipment.

The statement also said a swift and efficient action by Serbian police had successfully averted an attempt by the so-called Kosovo Police to mount an incursion into the territory of central Serbia to perform an action that would have represented, by all parameters, a terrorist act aimed at further destabilisation and escalation of conflict and against the Republic of Serbia.

Police will continue work on the case in cooperation with the relevant prosecutor's office, the statement also said.
