Vucic: Open discussion on Kosovo-Metohija, I expressed fear over situation
BELGRADE - Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the PMs of The Netherlands and Luxembourg, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the discussion had been quite sincere and had addressed topics that were not easy and that he had told them he was slightly scared over the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and the extent of Pristina's lack of responsibility.
"I made a promise to them Serbia will do everything it can to help preserve peace and stability," Vucic told a press conference with Mark Rutte and Xavier Bettel at the Palace of Serbia.
He noted that he had never in his political career seen a party as irresponsible as Pristina was regarding the Kosovo-Metohija issue.
"I thanked them for the investments and for the support for Serbia's EU path and expressed the belief there will be more optimistic and better news for Serbian citizens in the period to come," Vucic said.
He said Serbia's external trade with the Benelux states already exceeded 2 bln euros a year and that companies from those countries, such as Delhaize, were among the most significant investors in Serbia.
We have many more investors from the Benelux states that want to invest in Serbia, Vucic noted.
Rutte and Bettel called on Belgrade and Pristina to deescalate tensions.
