BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said on Monday his conversation with Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias earlier in the day had confirmed that Greece remained committed to supporting Serbia's territorial integrity, and thanked Athens for also backing Serbia on the EU integration path.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference with Dendias, Dacic said he had informed the Greek minister of the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and of Pristina's failure to comply with the Brussels Agreement.

"Serbia's interest is to maintain peace in the region and avert all possible incidents, and that we remain a factor of peace and stability in the region," Dacic said.

Dendias said he had reiterated Greece's stance on Kosovo during the meeting with Dacic.

"We continue to support the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue towards a legally binding solution. The agreements signed in the past are important and we must insist on them being respected. What I said I will also repeat in Pristina," Dendias said.

He said bilateral cooperation, not only between ministers and the governments of the two countries, but also between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, was crucial for stability in the region.

"Greece is committed to further strengthening of strategic ties with Serbia in all areas," he said.

He said Greece was advocating European integration of Serbia and the Western Balkans, and added that he believed Serbia was an integral part of Europe and that the EU was where Serbia belonged.

"We want to see Serbia continue its reforms in line with the European agenda, and we will help as much as we can," Dendias said.
