BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron at the weekend to present to him the consequences of dangerous developments in Kosovo-Metohija.
Vucic said he had asked Macron to invest additional efforts towards ensuring the "Pristina side is reasoned with and that it returns to within the framework of concrete discussions as soon as possible, as well as that it stop making all efforts towards de-escalating the situation pointless," Vucic wrote on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile after Saturday's conversation with the French president.
"The now open violence targeting Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija increasingly evidently makes more distant any possibility of civilised dialogue and approach to solving outstanding issues," Vucic added, noting that, as always, he had had an open and serious conversation with Macron.
He said he had also noted that Serbia remained committed to dialogue and preservation of peace even though the Serb community in Kosovo-Metohija was the only ethnic group in Europe that was being subjected to constant violence.
