BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received Slovenian Deputy PM and FM Tanja Fajon on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations, especially economic cooperation, as well as the situation in the region, Serbia's European integration and other current affairs.

Vucic said Serbia was satisfied with the present level of bilateral relations, the presidential press office said in a statement.

Slovenia being one of Serbia's most significant economic partners when it comes to external trade and investment ties, Vucic and Fajon noted that there were possibilities to intensify cooperation.

Speaking about developments in Kosovo-Metohija, Vucic reiterated Belgrade was fully committed to the EU-facilitated dialogue and to finding compromise solutions to the Kosovo-Metohija issue, and noted that Serbia advocated respect of the fundamental principles of international law and the legally binding UN SC Resolution 1244.

Vucic also noted that Serbia's foreign policy activities strongly focused on advancement of regional cooperation and that maintaining stability in the region was a key interest of Serbia.

Vucic thanked Fajon for Slovenia's strong and continued support to Serbia in the EU integration process.

Fajon said Slovenia had a positive orientation regarding the European path of Serbia and the entire Western Balkan region.

"It is in the interest of both countries that we continue the good bilateral cooperation and develop economic relations. You can always count on our support for European integration," Fajon was quoted as saying.
