SKOPJE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday in Skopje his response to a group of opposition parties that had submitted a demand for early elections before the end of the year was due by the end of this month.
Responding to questions from reporters after a meeting of Brdo-Brijuni Process leaders, Vucic said he had heard a part of the opposition had submitted a demand for early parliamentary elections and early local elections in Belgrade, and added that he would read it after returning to his office.
He noted the parties behind the demand had changed their opinion on elections as they had previously warned him he would face the wrath of the people if he called elections.
"Since I see they are demanding parliamentary and Belgrade elections, they will get the quickest and the most concrete response a president who, if anything, has the authority to call parliamentary elections can give them in line with democratic principles, but I will also respond to all of their foolish things," Vucic said.
