EU refutes Kurti's claims it tabled no proposal at Brussels meeting
BRUSSELS - The EU on Friday refuted Pristina PM Albin Kurti's claims that he tabled the only proposal at Thursday's meeting of the Brussels dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
The EU noted that its foreign policy and security chief Josep Borrell had made it clear after the meeting that an EU proposal of the order of implementing agreements reached in the dialogue - seen by Tanjug - had already been presented to Belgrade and Pristina at a June meeting.
It also noted that its special envoy Miroslav Lajcak had meanwhile held seven rounds of separate discussions on this with both parties.
"Therefore, Kurti's statement that his proposal was the only proposal on the table is simply factually untrue," a source in the EU administration told Tanjug.
Article 7 of the EU proposal envisions a formalisation of the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo-Metohija and a finalisation of internal procedures for protecting Serbian religious and cultural heritage there.
Articles 7 and 10 envision a finalisation of talks on the statute of an instrument of Serb self-government in Kosovo-Metohija.
In parallel, the articles envision the establishment of the instrument as well as abolition of structures administered by Belgrade and, as necessary, their transition within the instrument.
