Vucic: Cordial meeting with Scholz, I invited him to visit Serbia

NEW YORK - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic attended a reception hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to mark the 50th anniversary of Germany's UN membership and invited Scholz to visit Serbia to discuss with him in detail all matters of importance to advancement of cooperation between the two countries.

In a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account, Vucic wrote that the meeting with Scholz had been cordial.

"We took the opportunity to exchange views on the current geopolitical situation, the UN's role and significance in the world of today, as well as the contribution that we, as member states, can make to tackling existing global challenges," Vucic noted.

He added that he and Scholz had agreed that the 78th UN General Assembly session was an excellent opportunity for world leaders to meet and speak openly about real problems "we are all facing."

"I reiterated an invitation to Chancellor Scholz to visit Serbia so that we discuss in detail all matters of importance to advancement of cooperation between our two countries," Vucic wrote in the post.
