BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic received Norway's newly-appointed Ambassador to Belgrade Kristin Melsom on Tuesday.
He noted that EU membership was Serbia's foreign policy priority and that military neutrality was its strategic commitment, which he said was no obstacle to cooperation and forging good relations with all interested parties.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vucevic welcomed the ambassador and expressed the confidence the two countries would continue to build good and friendly relations and that overall Serbia-Norway cooperation would be improved, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Vucevic said he was pleased his Norwegian counterpart Bjorn Arild Gram was to make a return visit to Serbia and added that the visit would be an impetus to advancement of defence cooperation between the two countries.
Vucevic said a meeting with Gram would be an opportunity to exchange views on the political and security situation in the region and globally, as well as to review modalities for defence cooperation.
Thanking Vucevic for the reception, Melsom noted that she would make a contribution to advancement of Norway-Serbia cooperation in her new ambassadorial post.
