Night passes calmly in Zubin Potok after gunfire
ZUBIN POTOK- The night passed calmly in Zubin Potok, a Serb-majority municipality in the north of Kosovo-Metohija, after bursts of gunfire were heard late on Sunday.
An RTS reporter on the ground said residents were unsettled by the incident and noted that it reflected the great instability in the north of the province and escalated tensions.
The national broadcaster said there were no new details about the incident.
Confirming the incident, KFOR said the gunfire had not been aimed at its troops and that its patrol had only heard the shots being fired.
Municipal officials in Zubin Potok confirmed gunfire had been heard nearby but were unable to say who the perpetrator was and what direction it had come from.
Serbs in the north of Kosovo-Metohija remain at barricades for the 17th consecutive day, demanding a release of illegally arrested Serbs, a withdrawal of Pristina's special police troops from that part of the province and a scrapping of secret arrests lists for prominent Serbs.
