BELGRADE - At a meeting with China's new Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming, Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said Serbia-China relations were excellent and accompanied by intensive political dialogue at all levels.

Brnabic said there was always potential for further improvement of cooperation, especially in the economy and the ICT sector, and added that Serbia's guest appearance at a Shanghai international import expo in November was extremely important, the government press service said in a statement.

She said the signing of a FTA with China during President Aleksandar Vucic's upcoming visit to Beijing would be a significant contribution to stepping up bilateral economic cooperation.

She welcomed the announced signing of a large number of other agreements with China.

After informing the ambassador of the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and the years-long difficult position of Serbs and other non-Albanians there, Brnabic thanked Li for China's firm and consistent support to the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

Li said he was honoured to be serving as ambassador to Serbia and expressed the confidence the cooperation between the two countries would continue on an upward trajectory.

He noted that China firmly held the position of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of friendly Serbia.
