Gasic: All Interior Ministry units put on full alert

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic said late on Monday that, pursuant to an order by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, he had ordered that all units of the Interior Ministry be placed on full alert.

"Pursuant to an order by the President of the Republic and Serbian Armed Forces Commander-In-Chief Aleksandar Vucic, I have ordered that all units of the Interior Ministry, the Gendarmerie, the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Police Brigade be immediately put under the command of the chief of general staff and that they take the positions envisioned by the operating plan," Gasic said in an official statement after Vucic ordered that all measures be taken to protect Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.

Previously, Pristina's PM Albin Kurti ordered a deployment of Pristina's forces to the north of the province.
