BELGRADE  - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening early parliamentary elections, local elections in Belgrade and elections for the provincial assembly of Vojvodina would be held on December 17 to meet an opposition demand.

"The elections will be held on December 17, we have met all their demands. They wanted Belgrade elections and parliamentary elections, and they have got them, and they will also have elections in Vojvodina," Vucic said on a Prva TV talk show.

"Everything is perfectly alright, they will win and take power," he added ironically.

Vucic noted that local elections would also be held in 60 to 70 municipalities in the country.

He said he would call parliamentary elections on November 2, after returning from New York.

Vucic noted he was only authorised to call parliamentary elections.

"They are the ones that I call - ask the others about the other elections, but I believe they will all be held on the same day," Vucic told the show's host.
