Opposition National Gathering coalition dissolved

BELGRADE - The opposition National Gathering coalition, formed by the Serbian Dveri Movement and the Serbian Oathkeepers Party for the recent elections in Serbia, ceased to exist on December 30, its founders announced on Wednesday.

In a press release, the parties said they would be acting on their own in the future and thus individually taking political responsibility for positions stated after December 30, 2023.

As of the time of the dissolution of National Gathering, Serbian intellectuals who supported the former coalition in principle and in terms of its programme in the electoral campaign no longer stand by statements made by its individual members, the press release also said.

National Gathering won 2.75 pct of votes in the early parliamentary elections in Serbia, failing to clear the electoral threshold.
