Vucic asks EC chief to influence Pristina to drop decision on payment transactions
DAVOS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Davos on Thursday evening he had had a very good meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during the World Economic Forum meeting and that he had asked her that the EU do everything in its power to influence Pristina not to stop payment transactions with central Serbia.
"It was a very good, excellent meeting for us, and we discussed all important issues for Serbia - from regional relations to the growth plan proposed by the European Commission and von der Leyen," Vucic told Pink TV.
Speaking to the RTS, he said he was not optimistic about stopping Pristina from halting payment transactions.
"I am not really optimistic about that because I know who we are dealing with, but yes, I told Ursula von der Leyen - she is a woman who is generally familiar with that and it is her job to get into every detail - and I voiced not only my unease but concern over what someone is preparing to do in Kosovo-Metohija. And I asked her that they (the EU) exert their influence with all their strength and energy to ensure that something like that does not happen," Vucic said.
He said Kosovo-Metohija had been one of the main topics of all of his discussions in Davos.
