Vucic: Kosovo-Metohija a part of Serbia, Serbian embassy in Pristina Svecla's dream
VRANJE - In response to a statement by Pristina's interior minister Dzelal Svecla that a Serbian embassy would be the only Serbian symbol in Pristina, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Kosovo-Metohija was a part of Serbian territory and that a Serbian embassy in Pristina was Svecla's dream.
"I can tell him that, under UNSCR 1244 and our Constitution, Kosovo-Metohija is a part of the territory of the Republic of Serbia - that is how it has been and that is how it will be," Vucic told reporters in Vranje, southern Serbia, when asked to comment on the statement by Svecla, who also branded him and Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic "fascists."
Commenting on a 3 pm deadline set by Pristina for Kosovo-Metohija Serbs to remove a tent they have put up across from the municipal building in Leposavic to collect signatures for a dismissal of illegitimate local officials, Vucic said he would be watching the situation closely from Belgrade.
Asked about reports by US media outlets that US Senator Bob Menendez has been receiving money from ethnic Albanians, Vucic noted Menendez had been causing the biggest problems to Serbia for years.
"When you try to respond and speak with them (pro-Albanian lobbyists), you always hit an impenetrable wall and you immediately know it is about money someone has received. I think I have already talked about Menendez getting money from Albanians, and he has been arrested for receiving that money unlawfully," Vucic said.
