Serbian flag again flying over Zvecan Fortress in Kosovo-Metohija
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - A Serbian flag believed to have been removed from the Zvecan Fortress in the north of Kosovo-Metohija last night has been put back into place, a Tanjug correspondent reported.
It remains unknown who, and when, removed the tricolour flag and its post.
The Zvecan Fortress is situated on a hill of the same name, in the immediate vicinity of the Trepca mining complex.
It was first mentioned in the 11th century and is considered to have been the strongest fortress of the Nemanjic dynasty in mediaeval Serbia and one of the oldest in the Balkans.
