Sapic: I expect new Belgrade elections to be called within seven or eight days

BELGRADE - The head of the City of Belgrade Interim Authority Aleksandar Sapic said on Monday he expected new local elections in the capital to be called within seven or eight days, after the election of a new speaker of the national parliament, who will be in charge of calling the polls.

"I think we cannot go to the polling stations on April 21 because that means the elections should be called on Wednesday, and that date is already off. We can start looking (at dates) from the moment the speaker of the Serbian parliament is elected. I would like them to be held on April 28 - as soon as possible," Sapic told K1 TV.
