Patriarch Porfirije: There is room for all in Kosovo-Metohija
BELGRADE - There is room for all in Kosovo-Metohija, Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church said on Tuesday, calling on Kosovo Albanians to engage in dialogue.
"We are witnessing various forms of historical revisionism. But this is not even about revisionism because the places of the victims and the evildoers are swapped. Completely fictitious, imaginary constructions regarding Serbian holy sites are at work. Again and once again, guided by Christ's love, we call Kosovo-Metohija Albanians to dialogue because, just like there is room for all in Kosovo-Metohija, there is still, and always, room for dialogue about life of people in Kosovo-Metohija," the patriarch noted at a conference titled Kosovo-Metohija - History and Cultural Heritage.
Respect and protection of human and, especially, religious rights represents a universal civilisational value because those rights belong to all and must also be guaranteed to the Serbian church and its faithful, the patriarch said, noting that universal human and religious rights and freedoms could not be a part of status talks and political agreements.
