Vucic: Agreement on purchase of Rafale jets reached with Macron

PARIS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said ion Tuesday in Paris he had had a very good conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron last night and that a concrete agreement had been reached about a purchase of Rafale fighter jets, with contracts to be signed within two months.

"I am very happy with the results of the discussions and I am happy we were able to discuss, in an open and concrete way, all forms of cooperation with one of the most significant countries in the world. And it seems to me that we reached some concrete agreements also when it comes to a purchase of Rafales, and I expect the contracts to be signed within two months in the presence of the French president, which is tremendously important for our country on many levels," Vucic told reporters after a France-Serbia business council, at which he met with representatives of the French business association MEDEF International.

He said the discussions with Macron, which lasted for over three hours, had concluded at around 11.15 pm.
