Vucic: New gov't due in 10-15 days, before May holidays
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday he expected the new Serbian government to be elected in 10 to 15 days, before the May holidays and a grand Serbia-Republika Srpska assembly.
Speaking to the RTS, Vucic said there might be minor delays but that he hoped MPs would not be angered by having to work during the May holidays.
He said he was satisfied with the work of the previous government but that some changes were necessary and that the PM designate would decide about them.
"I believe there will be new ministers, and there will be some who were there before, there will be new distributions (of posts), but I believe there will be an additional, new energy as well. I am satisfied with the work of the previous government, a lot of good things have been done, but some changes and some fresh blood are always good for new energy," Vucic said.
He said the new government's goals would be to protect "vital national and state interests" and that the country would stay on the European path without turning its back on its traditional friends.
"That is a freedom-loving course and the only possible course," he said.
