Xi: China, Serbia to remain true friends, good partners
BELGRADE - In an article published by Belgrade-based Politika daily, Chinese President Xi Jinping says he looks forward to meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and other Serbian officials and friends, noting that his second state visit to Serbia will inject new vitality into the iron-clad Sino-Serbian friendship.
Xi also noted that he still had vivid memories of friendly scenes that had marked his previous visit to Serbia eight years ago and that the close cooperation between the two sides had since produced fruitful results.
"There has always been an affinity between the peoples of China and Serbia despite the great distance between us. During the bitter Anti-Fascist War and in the period of own state-building in the last century, the peoples of the two countries attained an iron-clad friendship extending across time and space. Amid the ongoing transformation of the world, never before seen in a century, mutual support is getting firmer, mutually beneficial cooperation is closer, while our exchanges and mutual learning are more substantial," Xi wrote.
Whatever the changes in the international situation, China and Serbia remain true friends and good partners and their iron-clad friendship is growing stronger all the time, setting an example for cooperation between states and nations, he noted.
