Lajcak: Solution to dinar issue can be found through compromise
BRUSSELS - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak says a sustainable temporary solution to the issue of the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo-Metohija can be reached through "flexibility and compromise" from both sides.
"Later this week, I'll be hosting the Chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia for discussions aimed at finding a sustainable temporary solution for those affected by the CBK ('Central Bank of Kosovo') regulation on cash operations. I’m certain that an agreement can be reached, but it will require flexibility and compromise from both parties," Lajcak wrote in a Facebook post.
Earlier, EU spokesperson Peter Stano announced a new round of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on finding a solution regarding Pristina's decision to ban the dinar in Kosovo-Metohija would take place in Brussels on Wednesday at chief negotiator level.
