Vucic arrives in New York
NEW YORK - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has arrived in New York, where he will attend a UN General Assembly debate on a Srebrenica draft resolution on May 23.
A delegation accompanying Vucic also includes FM Marko Djuric.
Before the trip to New York, Vucic attended a religious service led by Serbian Patriarch Porfirije at the Church of St Sava in central Belgrade on Monday morning.
Vucic asked for the patriarch's blessing and prayed to God at the church.
"I am going to New York to fight, with all my strength and all my heart, for the future of our country," he said.
"Those who are against us are mighty, but Serbia is the most sacred to us. There are so many lies, but the truth is only one and eternal. Our tricolour flag will fly proudly in New York and, under it, all freedom-loving countries, all nations fighting for dignity and justice - which has been made pointless and humiliated for a long time - will find new energy in their efforts for a more just world. Long live Serbia!" Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.
