NEW YORK - Speaking ahead of Thursday's UN General Assembly session on a Srebrenica resolution, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said it would be seen who was not afraid to side with justice against "the arrogant and powerful."

"Our job is to fight. I think we have done our best. So far, I have spoken with representatives of more than 147 countries," Vucic told Informer TV in New York on Wednesday evening.

He noted that representatives of 37 UN member states had attended a panel hosted by the Serbian mission to the UN on Wednesday to hear testimonies of Serb war victims from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vucic said there was growing pressure on Serbia, especially from Germany, which has proposed the resolution in tandem with Rwanda.

"I am shocked and quite sad when I see the effect pressure has on some countries that are much bigger than Serbia and often behave as mighty and powerful countries in the international arena, how afraid they are when the FM of a country calls and raises his voice just a little - no more than that," Vucic said.

Commenting on an argument often made by the resolution's sponsors - that the document makes no mention of collective responsibility - Vucic asked:

"Then what is the point of it?

"All those they believed were individually responsible have already been called to account," he added, noting that the objective of the resolution was to declare Serbia morally, politically and then also legally responsible.

"In the past 30 or almost 40 years, they have never united us as much as they have now, and I thank them for that," Vucic said.
