BELGRADE - Commenting on Thursday's UN General Assembly session on a Srebrenica resolution, Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said she had never been as concerned about peace in the Balkans as she was at this time.

Speaking to Pink TV, Brnabic said she had also never been more concerned about what life in Bosnia and Herzegovina would look like after the vote on the resolution.

"I call on everyone in the EU to ask themselves whether Bosnia and Herzegovina will be a more peaceful, more stable country in which there is greater understanding among Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, or a country that is increasingly unstable and in which one incident will be sufficient to set everything on fire," she said.

She said the fact some countries in the region cosponsored the draft resolution was disgraceful and that the same was the case with the way it had been tabled to the UNGA.

The resolution is being adopted in secrecy and without consultations, even within Bosnia and Herzegovina, she said.

"How can a resolution be passed in a manner contrary to the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Bosnia and Herzegovina constitution without anyone having a problem with it?" Brnabic asked.

"This is the beginning of the end of the UN, because this resolution is contrary to its Charter. In the future, all countries will be tabling similar resolutions about their own problems and troubles, and the UN Security Council will no longer have a say and new conflicts will open up," she said.

The term "genocide" will become meaningless, which suits Germany, Brnabic noted.

"The victims will be relativised, so their objective will be accomplished, which will result in deep divisions, above all, in Bosnia and Herzegovina," she said.
