BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with the UK's special Western Balkans envoy Stuart Peach on Tuesday to discuss advancement of bilateral relations and the regional and the global situation.

Brnabic expressed Serbia's commitment to continuing to advance the cooperation with the UK, the office of the PM said in a statement.

She especially highlighted the significance of economic cooperation, noting that the 2022 bilateral services trade volume exceeded 1.1 bln euros.

Peach confirmed the UK's commitment to working on stepping up bilateral contacts between the two sides.

The parties agreed that energy, science and technology were notably significant fields for advancement of bilateral cooperation, and Peach noted the UK's additional readiness to contribute actively to development of infrastructure connectivity in the Western Balkans.

Speaking about the relations with Pristina, Brnabic reiterated that dialogue, including implementation of previous agreements, was the only way of overcoming open issues and achieving a mutually acceptable solution.

She also noted that maintaining peace and stability was the fundamental priority for Belgrade.

Peach reiterated the UK's commitment to preserving peace and progress in the region and that, in that context, London supported the Berlin Process, the EU-facilitated dialogue, as well as all other initiatives contributing to advancement of concrete cooperation in the region.

Brnabic informed Peach of progress achieved by Serbia in rule of law through intensive work on aligning its legislation with the EU acquis, in particular, in the judiciary.
