BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric and Greek Ambassador to Belgrade Maria Levanti met on Thursday, affirming the traditionally good and friendly relations connecting the two countries and the two peoples.

Djuric informed the ambassador of current developments in Kosovo-Metohija, noting that Serbs in the province were being denied the fundamental human rights and that the dialogue on normalisation of relations had been regressing for months now due to Pristina's unilateral moves.

Serbia highly appreciates Greece's position of non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence, Djuric said, noting that Athens's support on the most important national issue meant much to Serbia.

Speaking about plans for the future, Djuric said Serbia wanted to expand its friendships and build relationships of trust with EU member states, full EU membership being its strategic commitment.

Djuric also thanked Greece for its support in the European integration process.

Noting that Serbia and Greece marked the 145th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2024, the parties said the occasion could be an additional incentive for discussions about expanding all forms of bilateral cooperation.Service Photo Gallery
