BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic received Greek Ambassador to Belgrade Maria Levadi on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and comprehensive bilateral cooperation, and noted that Serbia attached great significance to further advancement of cooperation with Greece, based on the mutual trust and friendship between the two countries and the two peoples.

Vucevic thanked Greece for abstaining in a UN General Assembly vote on a Srebrenica resolution, the Serbian government said in a statement.

He noted that the resolution would in no way contribute to stabilisation in the region or help improve the relations between Serbs and Bosniaks.

"Serbia's strategic goal is to contribute to better life for all citizens of the region through infrastructure and development projects," he said.

Vucevic noted that Serbia highly appreciated Greece's support on the issue of territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its position of not recognising the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.

He highlighted the significance of Greece's engagement towards accelerating Serbia's EU integration, which he noted remained Belgrade's strategic direction.

Levadi said the two countries maintained friendly relations and were connected by sincere support and friendship, and noted that Greece would not change its position on the Kosovo-Metohija issue.

She added that Greece would continue to strive to support Serbia on its EU path, in particular through the opening of Cluster 3 in its accession talks.Service Photo Gallery
